(28 May 2024 – Thailand) Citi has announced the appointment of Nattaphan Assavavisessivakul as their new Head of Markets for Thailand.
Assavavisessivakul is expected to commence in the role from August 2024 and will be instrumental in driving growth in the US bank’s local market’s presence in Thailand.
He joins from BNP Paribas Thailand, where he was head of global markets and ALM treasury. Prior to his tenure at the French bank, Assavavisessivakul was Head of Fixed Income, Commodities, and Currencies Sales at Bank of America Thailand.
His appointment is the latest of several this year in the Asia region. In late April, Citi appointed Amit Dhawan as Head of Commercial Banking for Citi Singapore, and added Joy Cheng as the Hong Kong equivalent in February.
He will report to Sue Lee, Citi’s head of markets, Asia South, and to Fourth Narumon, Citi country officer and banking head, Citi Thailand.
“Thailand is a key market for Citi with increased global client flows into the country and increasing overseas investments by local asset managers. Our focus as the world’s leading cross-border bank is to support and connect those flows for our clients. I am confident that Nattaphan will succeed in growing our business further” Narumon commented on his appointment.
“With Nattaphan’s wide network and proven track record, I am confident that his leadership will further enhance how Citi Markets Thailand delivers on its mission to be the best bank for our clients” said Sue Lee.
