(15 September 2025 – Singapore) Citi has appointed Lee Lung Nien as country officer and banking head for Singapore — the first Singaporean in 50 years to hold the bank’s top role in the city.
In his new position, effective 6 October 2025, Lee will oversee all of Citi’s businesses and operations in Singapore, drive franchise growth, manage key regulatory and client relationships, and maintain a strong risk and control framework, the bank announced.
Lee, a 35-year Citi veteran, was most recently chairman of Citi Private Bank for South Asia. His career has included roles as CEO of Citibank Berhad in Malaysia and senior posts across AML, operations, corporate sales, and markets.
He succeeds Tibor Pandi, who departs after eight years in Asia, and will report to Amol Gupte, head of Citi Asia South, joining the Asia South Management team.
