(27 October 2026 – Korea) Citibank Korea has appointed Kim Kyoung-ho, its Head of Corporate Banking, as Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition as the bank continues to strengthen its focus on corporate and institutional banking.
Kim succeeds Yoo Myung-soon, who became Citibank Korea’s first female CEO in 2020 and has led the lender for the past six years. He will serve a three-year term.
A Citi veteran with more than 25 years of experience at the bank, Kim joined Citibank Korea in 2001 and has held several senior leadership positions across its corporate banking operations, including large corporate banking and financial institutions coverage.
He was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2021 and was subsequently nominated as the sole candidate for the CEO position by the bank’s executive recommendation committee on 22 September.
The appointment comes amid Citibank Korea’s ongoing strategic transformation following its withdrawal from consumer banking, a move that has repositioned corporate banking as the centrepiece of its domestic operations.
As CEO, Kim will be responsible for advancing the bank’s corporate banking strategy, strengthening its institutional client relationships and sustaining business performance in an increasingly competitive Korean financial services market.
His extensive experience in corporate banking positions him to oversee the next phase of Citibank Korea’s development as the lender consolidates its focus on serving corporate and institutional clients.
