(29 July 2024 – Australia) JPMorgan’s Jonas Troeber will be the bank’s sole head of equity capital markets for Australia, as co-head Simone Haslinger departs after 14 years with the bank.
The changes were announced to staff on Monday afternoon in a staff memo seen by the Australia Finance Review and are part of wider ECM team changes for the bank in Asia Pacific.
“Simone Haslinger has decided not to return to J.P. Morgan at the end of her parental leave period and will be pursuing other opportunities outside the firm,” JPMorgan’s co-heads of international ECM, Aloke Gupte and Alex Watkins said in the staff memo.
“We would like to thank Simone for her leadership and dedication to J.P. Morgan over the years and wish her all the best for the future.”
The duo had shared the role since early 2021, after Dyson Bowditch and Jabe Jerram left for Barrenjoey. Troeber joined JPMorgan in 2020 as its Antipodean equity syndication head, after more than a decade at Morgan Stanley.
He reports into Sunil Dhupelia and Peihao Huang, who have just been named JPMorgan’s co-heads of ECM for Asia Pacific
