(9 August 2006 – Australia) Former managing director of ANZ’s Global Cards business Charles Carbonaro has joined the board of directors of listed payments company Customers.Carbonaro is an international expert on cards, electronic banking and payment systems and has held directorships at Visa International, Funds Transfer Services, Cardlink, Mondex International and Mondex Australasia.
He currently runs his own consulting firm, CVC Global Consulting.
At ANZ, Carbonaro established loyalty card schemes such as the Qantas and Telstra programs.
Customers chairman Greg Baker said the board was “clearly delighted” to have secured such an outstanding payments business expert.
“Customers will clearly benefit from Mr Carbonaro’s business acumen, skills and deep experience as we continue to grow and evolve,” he said.
Carbonaro said the Customers team had already made terrific progress in a relatively short period.
