(17 March 2025 – Australia) Visa, a world leader in digital payments, has partnered with ANZ, NAB, HSBC, and Westpac to launch Visa B2B Integrated Payments (VBIP) in Australia to streamline and simplify B2B payments for businesses of all sizes.

The solution, which is embedded into the SAP Business Technology Platform, will allow businesses to automate many of their B2B payments. This effectively removes the need for additional reconciliation, improving productivity for administration and finance teams, and creating more time to focus on business growth.

ANZ’s new secure payments solution enables customers to access seamless supplier payments management, enhance working capital and reduce manual processes. The initiative is part of ANZ’s broader B2B payables strategy, aimed at improving customer experiences by embedding payments and working capital benefits directly into enterprise software.

Embedded finance plays a key role in digital transformation. By integrating seamless software-powered solutions, ANZ is ensuring its customers can achieve significant process efficiencies, cost savings and security enhancements. The embedded card payment capability is expected to be available to ANZ customers from September 2025.

Australian business owners using the SAP platform will be able to route commercial payments to all suppliers, including those that do not accept card payments. And as an embedded component of SAP, the solution requires little effort for implementation. The solution is offered through Visa’s local participating partners which currently include ANZ, NAB, HSBC, and Westpac with plans for more in the future.

“Business-to-business payments should not be complicated. And Australians want B2B payments to be as simple and intuitive as the seamless payments they experience as consumers. This milestone will help address common pain points faced by business owners, helping to close working capital gaps and digitise B2B payments across supply chains. For a growing company managing multiple suppliers, payment processes can be automated to reduce the risk of late fees, allowing them to focus on improving their product offerings and customer service while effectively managing supplier payments and cash flow” said Visa President of Commercial and Money Movement Solutions, Chris Newkirk.

“Very excited that ANZ has signed a partnership with Visa to enable virtual card payments directly from SAP’s business systems. This type of capability forms a key part of our B2B Payables Proposition providing options for our customers to access our financial solutions and embedding them into the systems they want to use. Delighted that our customers’ partners can work together to bring innovation and efficiency to their businesses” commented ANZ Head of B2B Payables Propositions and Trade Digitalisation, Industry and Innovation, Transaction Banking, Damian Kwok.

“As payments become increasingly digital, ANZ is committed to helping our customers streamline their processes and elevate their payment workflows to improve the way they pay suppliers. This new partnership with VISA and SAP complements our existing payment options, seamlessly integrating financial solutions into the systems our customers already use, providing choice while driving efficiency and innovation” stated ANZ Head of Transaction Banking, Australia and PNG, Pip Campbell.

“As Australia’s largest business bank, NAB is focused on making things simpler and quicker for our customers so they can focus on building their businesses. We’re excited about partnering with Visa on innovations like VBIP which will help business owners simplify procurement and pay their suppliers faster so they can spend more time on the things that matter” commented NAB Executive for Business & Private Transaction Banking, Paul Riley.

“Providing our customers with new capability in payments that create efficiency and value is an important part of Westpac’s offer. We are pleased to be able to offer VBIP embedded payments within the SAP environment as it provides our customers the ability to pay suppliers with a card embedded in their B2B payment flows. This has the potential to provide process efficiencies and cost benefits where card payments have previously been a stand-alone process. Importantly it could also provide access to more working capital solutions within their technology of choice” stated Westpac Institutional Bank Managing Director of Global Transaction Services, Jeff Byrne.
