HQ symbolic of new NAB culture

(19 October 2004 – Australia) National Australia Bank has officially cut the ribbon on its new headquarters at Melbourne’s docklands and stated that the development is more than just a building. The bank said the low rise, transparent buildings which contained 3500 employees but no offices, symbolised the new, open and communicative culture at NAB.

NAB chief executive John Stewart said the development was a “statement about the new National and its culture”.

“It helps to embed some of our key corporate principles, including being open and honest, teamwork and collaboration, speed and simplicity and efficient execution of our promises.

“It fosters people speaking together rather than relying on emails. It’s an environment that will support the integration of two of our core businesses – retail banking and wealth management, resulting in better product and service offerings for our customers,” Stewart said.
