(29 September 2026 – Global) HSBC has launched HSBCnio, a new digital transaction banking platform designed to reduce complexity for corporate clients by bringing the bank’s services, data, and intelligence directly into the channels and workflows businesses already use.
The platform offers a suite of APIs, a software development kit, and a sandbox environment, accessible via web, mobile, or direct system integration.
HSBCnio provides a simplified interface for viewing cash positions, transactions, trade loans, FX, and payment tracking. A key feature is its AI integration via HSBC’s Model Context Protocol, which enables clients’ own AI tools to query authorised account and transaction data — helping financial teams find and interpret banking information more efficiently.
“AI is core to the design of HSBCnio,” said Amber Henderson-Smart, global head of client connectivity at HSBC, adding that the platform supports HSBC’s ambition to embed AI solutions that benefit clients and enable them to compare products and explore options more quickly. Further capabilities are planned, including ‘Ask HSBC’ — an AI agent designed to help clients query and interpret their banking information.
