(Australia) – Regional Australian player, Bank of Western Australia is creating a new technology unit by amalgamating its existing IT services unit with wholly owned subsidiary CBSIS Ltd.This new information technology division has been implemented to deliver service both internally and to its majority shareholder, HBOS, and support the Bank’s stated aim of national expansion.
Continuing internal demands on IT services, including its core banking system, had contributed to the Bank’s decision to stop external marketing of services and concentrate on meeting the Bank’s and HBOS’ needs.
