(20 August 2024 – Singapore) Standard Chartered has announced key leadership appointments within its Transaction Banking division, with Sofia Hammoucha named as Global Head of Trade & Working Capital, based in Singapore.

Additionally, Ankur Kanwar has been appointed as Head of Transaction Banking for Singapore and ASEAN, while Marion Reuter has been named Head of Transaction Banking for Europe and Standard Chartered Bank AG, based in Frankfurt.

Sofia Hammoucha joined Standard Chartered in 2022, bringing over two decades of experience from BNP Paribas, where she held various leadership roles across Europe and Asia Pacific. Ankur Kanwar, who has been with the bank since 2015, will also continue in his current roles, leveraging his extensive experience in digital solutions and cash management. Marion Reuter, with more than 20 years in the Transaction Banking industry, continues to lead Transaction Banking Corporate Sales in Europe. These appointments are seen as a strategic move to enhance Standard Chartered’s leadership in Transaction Banking globally.

Commenting on the appointments, Michael Spiegel, Global Head of Transaction Banking, said: “We’re pleased to appoint three prominent internal talents to be part of our Transaction Banking leadership team. Sofia, Marion and Ankur bring deep experience and understanding of our clients and our network, which will be instrumental as we continue building our product capabilities and deepening our corporate and institutional client relationships.”
