Mastercard Appoints Yasemin Bedir to Lead EEMEA

(12 August 2026 – UAE) Mastercard has appointed Yasemin Bedir as President of its Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) operations, effective 1 September. She succeeds Dimitrios Dosis, who was recently named Chief Commercial Payments Officer, leading Commercial & New Payment Flows.

Bedir has worked at Mastercard for 20 years and will join the company’s Management Committee. Based in the UAE, she will oversee the strategy, direction and overall performance of Mastercard’s operations across the region, working with retailers, fintechs, financial institutions, governments and businesses.

Yasemin Bedir takes regional leadership role

Sachin Mehra, Chief Business Officer, Mastercard: “Yasemin is a leader who finds the best in her teams to help them deliver the greatest impact for our customers and to fuel local economies. This is a vast and complex region that demands creative thinking, proven results and strong relationships. Yasemin has delivered that throughout her career. Working with our customers and partners across the EEMEA region, we have a true opportunity to shape and redefine how people and businesses move money, exchange value and enable commerce for years to come.”

Prior to this appointment, Bedir served as Division President for Eastern Europe for four years, guiding the team through a complex geopolitical and regulatory environment to strengthen Mastercard’s leadership position across these markets. She is a passionate advocate for talent development and has fostered a culture grounded in accountability and collaboration.

Bedir brings two decades of Mastercard experience

Bedir joined Mastercard in 2007. In 2011, she took on the role of Head of Sales for South-East Europe and in 2014, she became General Manager of Turkey and Azerbaijan at Mastercard.

In 2017, she was appointed as the Executive Vice President for Mastercard’s North American Markets, and became the first female senior executive ever from Turkey to work in Mastercard USA. In this role, she was responsible for Community Institutions and Processors for North American Markets until 2022.

Career spans banking and financial services

Before her career at Mastercard, she worked as a manager in retail banking services at HSBC, Garanti Bank, and Yapı Kredi in Turkey. She also served in several roles spanning marketing to product development through the years.

Yasemin is among the Founders of the Professional Women Network (PWN), and also co-sponsors the Women Leadership Network globally within Mastercard, and leads many projects to help SMEs grow.

Yasemin Bedir:“I’ve been inspired by the teams here at Mastercard. Their resilience, innovative spirit and relentless dedication to meet and exceed customer needs is what powers our impact every day. Together, we will build on the strong foundation the regional team has created under Dimi’s leadership over the past five years.”
