(30 September 2026 – Asia Pacific) Mizuho Bank has launched a $1bn risk-sharing facility with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to support the financing of suppliers and distributors across Asia Pacific.
Over three years, IFC will provide up to $500m in risk-sharing across a portfolio of supply chain finance instruments, including payables finance, receivables financing, and pre-shipment financing programmes.
The facility, structured through IFC’s Global Supply Chain Finance programme, is aimed at addressing working capital constraints faced by suppliers and distributors in the region, with a particular focus on SMEs. “By enabling businesses to obtain financing linked to the credit strength of their buyers, supply chain finance can help companies meet production needs, scale operations, and create jobs,” Mizuho said.
