NAB CIO set to retire

(19 October 2005 – Australia) National Australia Bank is on the hunt for a new chief information officer following Ian MacDonald’s announcement that he will retire from the post in 2006.The decision marks the end of a 34 year career with the NAB group.

MacDonald has been in the position of CIO since August 2004, moving internally from his previous role of executive general manager, Financial Services Australia.

During his career at NAB, MacDonald spent time at the bank’s UK operations, heading Retail Services at Clydesdale Bank and at Yorkshire Bank holding the role of chief operating officer.

NAB managing director and group chief executive John Stewart thanked MacDonald for the leadership he had shown during his career with the bank.
