(14 April 2020 – China) Citi has named Howard Yang as its China head for its Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) business.
Mr Yang will oversee all of Citi’s TTS operations in China, delivering cash management, trade and liquidity solutions for multinational and domestic clients in the country.
The role, which is based in Shanghai, will see Mr Yang report to Christine Lam, Citi China’s president and CEO.
Mr Yang most recently held the role of Citi’s TTS head in Hong Kong, where he led “digitisation initiatives for cash and trade products, grew revenues from intra-Asian flows and expanded the business’ trade asset portfolio”. Prior this, Yang worked for around five years as product head of TTS for Citi Taiwan.
“China is well-placed to be the financial ecosystem for digital commerce and partner clients as they evolve their businesses for the digital economy,” Lam said.
The move is the latest TTS appointments around the globe in the past month or two as Citi continues to foster closer collaboration between its Institutional Clients Group (ICG) and TTS business.
