(9 September 2024 – Hong Kong) JP Morgan has announced Kwang Kam Shing as its new Hong Kong chief executive, taking over from Harshika Patel, who is staying on as head of the firm’s private bank in Asia.
Kwang and Patel have seemingly switched roles with Patel leaving the HK CEO role after three years last October to take on the CEO role of JP Morgans’ Asia Private Bank, and Kwang moving in the opposite direction from CEO of the firms private bank in Asia to lead Hong Kong.
Effective 1 October 2024, Kwang will report to Sjoerd Leenart, the Asia-Pacific CEO, and will oversee local governance, coordination, and controls.
