(17 October 2019 – Hong Kong) Citigroup has appointed Peter Babej, the bank’s global head of financial institutions group, as its new Asia Pacific chief executive.
Mr Babej will relocate to Hong Kong from his current base in New York and will replace Francisco Aristeguieta who left Citi earlier this year to join State Street as chief executive of its international business.
Tim Monger, who has been acting as interim CEO in the region since Mr Aristeguieta’s departure will remain as CFO.
Mr Babej has been with Citi since 2010 having previously worked at Deutsche Bank and Lazard.
