Senior management changes at UniCredit

(21 February 2018 – Europe) Italian-based UniCredit has appointed Jan Kupfer as head of corporate and investment banking for Germany.

He will depart his current role of global co-head of global transaction banking, leaving Luca Corsini as sole head.

Kupfer was promoted to the role as his predecessor, Michael Diederich, who was appointed country chairman for Germany following the departure of Theodor Weimer to become chief executive of rival bank Deutsche Boerse at the beginning of 2018.

Kupfer worked with UniCredit for 27 years, first starting in 1991. He has held senior positions including head of CIB Americas and global co-head of CIB structured credit.

Meanwhile, Corsini will be supported by Thomas Dusch, who has been promoted from head of GTB, Germany to deputy global head of GTB, a new role. Dusch will be replaced by two co-heads Katharina Michael and Harald Schwendtner.
