(21 October 2025 – United States) Visa Direct and PaySend investigate the biggest barrier in financial services, namely the difficulty, inefficiency and cost of cross border payments and fragmented financial services for businesses, especially SMEs.
Traditional providers often require dealing with many systems, currencies and payment rails with fragmented service as a result. The biggest challenge in financial services for enterprises today is the lack of simplicity, speed and transparency in moving money globally and servicing businesses financial needs holistically.
SMEs believe their growth ambitions are inhibited by legacy financial services resulting in delayed payment settlement times, unclear cost structures and switching between multiple providers.
“As CEO at PaySend, Ben Chisell is revolutionising how money moves across borders. In this episode, we talk with Ben about his personal journey, his passion for improving financial inclusion, and the challenges faced by millions when it comes to sending and receiving money. We explore the inefficiencies in traditional systems, the impact of new technologies, and how PaySend’s secret recipe for settling international payments could solve ‘the single biggest problem in financial services’ to the benefit of businesses and individuals alike.”
PaySend is expanding its long-standing partnership with Visa through a new program that will make PaySend’s Enterprise API available to Visa merchants and collaborators across North America. The API is a technology interface that allows businesses to integrate PaySend’s payment capabilities into their own systems.
“Our ongoing collaboration with PaySend demonstrates the value of combining Visa’s global reach with innovative payment technology,” said Visa Direct Head of Global Partnerships and Sales, Justin Zhao.
“With this next phase, we are addressing common challenges in cross-border payments and helping to set new expectations for speed, transparency, and convenience in the industry.”
