St. George NZ venture to use NZ Post IT subsidiary

(New Zealand) – Superbank, the new bank set to be launched in March by supermarket giant Foodstuffs and Australia’s St. George, will use the Datacom company for its IT back-end infrastructure.Datacom is 28 percent owned by NZ Post, operator of the no-frills Kiwibank retail provider.

Datacom will host Superbank’s hardware in Wellington, including Unix servers from IBM, with disaster recovery located in Auckland.
