Suncorp loses Trowbridge, gains Tasmania

(Australia) Queensland bank and insurer Suncorp said its head of general insurance John Trowbridge will be stepping down to be replaced by Diana Eilert, who is currently a partner with IBM’s business consulting division.Suncorp managing director John Mulcahy said Trowbridge, who is to retire, had successfully completed the GIO integration and delivered the “synergies and positioning” to grow the insurance side of the business.

Eilert began her career with NRMA, before leaving to head up AAMI’s sales and marketing in NSW. After this she spent 10 years with Citibank before joining insurance giant Zurich.

In further news, Suncorp has inked a deal with the Royal Automobile Club of Tasmania that will see the Queensland company’s insurance products sold in Tasmania under the RACT brand.

The agreement is subject to due diligence and regulatory approval but will be rolled out in 2004 once the deal has gone through.
