(20 July 2007 – Australia) BankWest has opened a new Business Banking Centre in Orange, New South Wales.Orange MP Russell Turner cut the ribbon on the new centre and said the move by BankWest was a vote of confidence for the area’s economic development, and said it would encourage competition in the local financial services market.
BankWest head of Rural and Regional Banking, Jamie Ritchie said Orange was a growing region and noted its strategic importance in NSW.
He said there was growing demand in Orange for competitive financial agribusiness and commercial products, and that rural and regional NSW was a key part of BankWest’s growth strategy.
“Our recent expansion announcement means it will be even easier for BankWest customers to access our services and products over the coming years,” Ritchie said.
Last week BankWest announced it would open 160 new branches on the east coast of Australia over the next few years.
