(6 February 2026 – China) Visa Direct has announced a partnership with UnionPay, connecting their money movement systems to enable cross border payments for Chinese mainland business and consumer clients.
The partnership links Visa Direct’s global payout network with UnionPay International’s MoneyExpress platform, enabling senders to reach over 95 percent of UnionPay debit card holders in China. The service will enable users to execute cross-border remittances and business-to-consumer (B2C) payments, building on the trend towards digitisation and convenience for leading global money movement providers.
Visa Direct confirms that the partnership will empower the group to offer a secure and transparent method for businesses and consumers globally to send money to the Chinese mainland, one of the world’s largest remittance destinations.
