(22 May 2025 – Global) Visa has unveiled a new initiative designed to accelerate the growth of embedded finance, by helping fintechs and enterprise software providers integrate commercial payments into their platforms more easily.
The Visa Commercial Integrated Partners program offers a streamlined framework and access to Visa’s commercial APIs, allowing providers to embed virtual cards and data solutions directly into business applications, such as ERP or fleet management systems, without requiring extensive direct integrations with financial institutions.
Car IQ, a fleet and vehicle tech company, is already using the platform to enable in-app virtual card payments for fuel, showing how the model can enhance customer experience while simplifying payments.
Visa claims the program can reduce the typical onboarding and development cycle by up to two years, cutting down on integration costs, supplier vetting, and project timelines.
“By leveraging our network and Commercial APIs, we are enabling our partners to innovate faster, reduce development and distribution costs and deliver superior payment experiences to their clients—it underscores Visa’s commitment to driving the future of digital payments and supporting the growth of the fintech ecosystem globally,” said Darren Parslow, global head of Visa Commercial Solutions.
Financial institutions stand to benefit as well, with expanded capabilities to offer payments within ERP and mobile apps, virtual card tokenisation, greater transaction controls, and enhanced data transparency.
