(17 October 2024 – Europe) Worldline is expanding its payment solutions by introducing account-to-account payment services in ten European countries.
The ‘Bank Transfer by Worldline’ service, which has been in a nine-month pilot phase, is now available across approximately 500 of Worldline’s existing merchants, integrating into their online payment and pay-by-link services.
This service supports both online and invoice payments, providing features such as low-code integration, quick settlement notifications, seamless refunds, and consolidated payout, reporting, and reconciliation capabilities for both domestic and international transactions.
The launch will cover Austria, Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain. Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary are expected to follow later this year.
Alessandro Baroni, Head of Financial Services at Worldline, stated: “By integrating Worldline’s open banking solution, which connects to over 3,500 banks across European countries, Bank Transfer by Worldline offers merchants a solution that simplifies payment initiation via bank transfer and unifies the customer experience.”
This rollout marks Worldline’s latest effort to explore new revenue streams, amid a challenging outlook for its core merchant payments business. Last month, the company announced its entry into the embedded payments market, offering platforms and marketplaces a comprehensive suite of multi-currency features to facilitate quick user sign-up, sales, and payments.
