ANZ connects customers to international currency products
(24 August 2004 – Australia) ANZ has launched a new service that allows customers to order international currency and payments products over the phone.
The bank said the service reduces the waiting time for customers seeking access to foreign currency, traveller’s cheques, telegraphic transfers and international drafts.
ANZ managing director, Trade and Transaction Services, Mark Paton, said the service which can be accessed via an 1800 number, was part of the bank’s strategy to make it easier for customers to access foreign currency products and services.
"It avoids waiting while paperwork is completed in-branch and avoids delays for customers in rural locations or those wanting non standard currencies," he said.
Paton said the products could now be ordered through the phone, the internet or bank branches.
