Business and consumer go separate ways at Westpac

(21 February 2007 – Australia) Westpac has restructured Business and Consumer Banking, splitting the division into two new parts: Consumer Financial Services and Business Financial Services. Consumer Financial Services will be headed by group executive Mike Pratt, who will be responsible for mortgage and personal lending, third party relationships, cards, savings and transaction accounts.

Peter Hanlon has moved to group executive of Business Financial Services, responsible for SME banking, agribusiness, working capital and trade. He was previously general manager of Business Banking.

Westpac chief executive David Morgan said the new structure provided greater executive focus to ensure the bank continued growing in a very competitive market.
