CBA supports small business award

(1 May 2007 – Australia) Commonwealth Bank has thrown its support behind a small business awards initiative in association with the federal government. Known as the Australian Small Business Champion Awards, the initiative is designed to support and recognise the most outstanding small businesses in each state and their contribution to the local community.

CBA general manager of Local Business Banking for Mid Eastern Australia, Arnie Selvarajah, said the Australian Small Business Champion Awards acknowledged the dedication and achievements of the small business community across Australia.

"The Commonwealth Bank is dedicated to supporting Australian business and setting a new standard for the quality of service provided by banks to local businesses," he said.

"This initiative is just one way in which we are helping to support and reward local and small businesses for their hard work and contribution to the community," Selvarajah said.

The eventual winner will be named ‘Small Business Champion Entrepreneur’ and take home A$40,000 in prize money.
