Citi Announces New TTS Leadership Roles

Citi Announces New TTS Leadership Roles

(17 December 2020 – Asia) Citi Asia Pacific Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) has named Sanjeev Jain and Scott Southall to new leadership roles in the region’s management team with an eye on digital commerce. The appointments, which take effect immediately, are aimed at strengthening the group’s digital commerce presence. Both will continue to report to regional division head Rajesh Mehta.

Jain has been appointed the Asia Pacific head of payments and receivables, a role he will take on in addition to his current responsibility as the region’s head of digital channels and data. Jain is in the process of transitioning out of his other roles, regional product head for TTS Commercial Banking and Regional Head of Implementations, Citi said in a statement on Monday.

In his new role Jain will have oversight of digital payments and collections in the region, which Citi says is a key strategic and fast-evolving role for the bank. In his current role as the head of digital channels and data, Jain oversees product development and management of Citi’s suite of digital services including traditional online banking and connectivity services as well as rapidly evolving services such as Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Jain had joined Citi in 1998 in cash management operations in India before taking on other roles. He has also held country leadership roles for transaction services in the Philippines and Indonesia. Southall, on the other hand, will now also be responsible for innovation and TTS’ commercial cards business in the Asia-Pacific, in addition to his current role as cluster head for TTS in Australia and New Zealand. He joined Citi in 2011 after stints at Westpac Banking Corp. and KPMG. Both will continue to report to Rajesh Mehta, the regional head of Citi’s TTS division.

“Sanjeev and Scott bring a wealth of experience in Treasury and Trade Solutions to their respective new responsibilities. Sanjeev has a strong and proven track record in building and transforming large complex businesses, both in individual markets and as part of his current regional remit. Scott is credited with the success of multiple business initiatives, including the development of account-based cross-border collections, adoption of DocuSign to digitize interactions with clients and the launch of contactless commercial cards” stated Rajesh.

“As we embrace an increasingly digital future and continue to transform our business to be the platform of choice for digital commerce, I am confident that Sanjeev and Scott’s foresight and leadership will lead us to greater success in the region”
