Citi Singapore CEO steps down

(11 February 2019 – Singapore) Citibank Singapore CEO Han Kwee Juan has stepped down, drawing to a close his 27 year tenure having originally joined the US bank as a summer intern in 1990.

Mr Han has been CEO and Country Business Manager at Citibank Singapore since 2012 following his role as Head of credit payment products from 2010. Citi stated that Mr Han was an active member in several banking committees, and represented the bank in the tripartite movement with the Ministry of Manpower and National Trades Union Congress (NTUC).

Citi Head of Cards and Personal Loans, Vikas Kumar, assumes the role of interim country head during the bank’s executive search for a replacement. The bank has not confirmed if it is hiring his replacement internally or externally. Mr Han was recognised as a distinguished fellow by the Institute of Banking and Finance in 2013.

Citi released a statement that read  "Throughout his career with Citi, Kwee Juan has championed innovation targeted at addressing market gaps as well as driven the digital transformation of the business. He contributed greatly to the development of a skills future framework within consumer banking.”
