Ex-AMP CEO now at CBA

(21 May 2008 – Australia) Former chief executive officer at AMP, Andrew Mohl, has been appointed as a director of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Dr John Schubert, chairman of CBA, said that the appointment of Mohl to director of CBA would be effective from the 1st of July 2008.

Schubert said that Mohl’s contributions to the board will come from his highly relevant experience in the management of large and complex financial services groups.

Andrew Mohl was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AMP Limited from October 2002 until his retirement at the end of December 2007.

He also served as Director of AMP Life Limited and AMP Capital Investors Limited.

Mohl began at AMP as General Manager Retail Distribution, AMP Financial Services in November 1996.

Before his career at AMP, Mohl worked at one of CBA’s big four competitors, in ANZ.

In a variety of roles, Mohl worked at ANZ for ten years, from 1986 to 1996, before moving to AMP.

His positions at ANZ included Senior and Chief Economist (1986-1990) at ANZ Banking Group, Zone Chief Manager, ANZ Retail Banking (1990-1993) and Managing Director ANZ Funds Management (1993-1996).
