Fitch cautious on Thai banks

Fitch cautious on Thai banks

(Thailand) - Ratings agency Fitch Ratings has delivered a mixed assessment of Thailand's banks, saying that while the stronger players will make headway 2003 will be tough for the weaker banks. Reviewing the sector's 2002 earnings, Fitch said that while the results show that stronger bank's recovery is on track, weaknesses in earnings, asset quality and capital are yet to be resolved.
