Incoming Suncorp CEO to start on 1 October
(20 August 2015 – Australia) Suncorp Group chairman Ziggy Switkowski announced on 18 August that incoming Group chief executive and managing director Michael Cameron would commence in the role on 1 October 2015.
Cameron is currently chief executive and Managing Director of GPT and has been a non-executive director of Suncorp Group since April 2012.
His appointment was announced in April after current Group chief executive Patrick Snowball confirmed his intention to return to the United Kingdom after his six years at the helm.
Dr Switkowski said the timing of Cameron’s commencement was ideal, as it directly follows Snowball’s final Annual General Meeting.
“Mr Cameron’s depth of experience will drive the Group and its many brands to the next level for the benefit of shareholders and customers, while maintaining the discipline and focus that underpins the company’s strategy,” Dr Switkowski said.
