Lawrence joins Shawbrook board

Lawrence joins Shawbrook board

(27 August 2015 – Britain) Challenger bank Shawbrook Bank has added to its boards with the appointment of former HSBC veteran Paul Lawrence.

Lawrence will take up the non-executive role effective immediately and is expected to head up the board’s risk committee.

He was with HSBC for over three decades, including as chief executive of North America, head of global banking and markets in the US and global head of group internal audit.

The latest hire follows the announcement of former Bank of England regulator and ex-Yorkshire Building Society chief Iain Cornish as its new chairman.

In a statement Cornish said Lawrence brought with him over 30 years’ commercial and operation experience in banking and would be a valuable addition to the board of Shawbrook.

“I look forward to working with him and to his contribution to the continued success of the group."
