Lloyds creates Asia Head of Global Transaction Banking role

(31 July 2017 – Asia) Lloyds Bank has announced that is has created a new role, Head of Global Transaction Banking in Asia, and appointed Shivkumar Seerapu to the position.

Seerapu joins the British bank from continental rival, Deutsche Bank, where he was regional head of trade finance, Asia Pacific. He also has senior management experience with Standard Chartered and ANZ Grindlays Bank, in trade-related positions.

He will commence his new role later this month. Seerapu will be based in Singapore and have the overall responsibility for the bank’s GTB business in Asia, reporting to Oliver Brinkmann, CEO of Lloyds Bank Asia and GTB International, London.

According to a statement from the bank, the hire represents a “key step” in the build out of the bank’s Asia commercial banking operations, which were set up in Singapore in 2015.

Brinkmann comments on the move: “Shiv brings with him a wealth of knowledge on transaction banking in the Asia region. This is an important appointment for Lloyds Bank in Asia as we continue to build a first-class corporate banking team; and I see transaction banking as a vital component in meeting the needs of our clients in the region as we continue to grow.
