No day of rest for CBA

No day of rest for CBA

(7 November 2007 – Australia) Commonwealth Bank is set to commence Sunday trading at seven of its Sydney branches. CBA has received a license to trade on Sundays in Bankstown, Parramatta, Campbelltown, Hurstville, Penrith, Blacktown and Warringah Mall.

The bank said another tranche of branches will open on Sundays next year.

CBA group executive for Retail Banking Services, Ross McEwan, said Sunday trading was part of the bank’s commitment to providing greater convenience, accessibility and customer service.

As well as retail customers, he said Sunday was one of its merchant customers’ busiest days.

McEwan said Sunday opening was a response to people having busy lives and was one way the bank could take some of the pressure off its customers.

The branches will be open between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm.
