StanChart Appoints Top Leaders in Asia

(23 February 2022 – Asia) Standard Chartered has appointed Xie Wen as Global Head, Business Banking and Mohamed Keraine as Global Head, Digital for its Consumer, Private and Business Banking (CPBB) business.

Based in China, Xie will report to CPBB chief executive Judy Hsu. Xie has been with the bank for 25 years and is currently its co-head of client coverage for commerce, corporate and institutional banking in China. Previously, she was country risk officer for Singapore and China before moving on to head commercial banking in China in 2015.

Based in Singapore, Keraine will also be reporting to Hsu. Keraine joins from ING where he began his career in 2006 before taking on various roles including head of business development for retail markets in Europe, Australia and Asia from 2011 to 2017. In 2018, he was appointed head of retail development Asia where he led tech efforts including the launch of ING’s first digital bank in the Philippines as well as other strategic initiatives in Southeast Asia and China.

“As we increasingly shift how we service our clients to digital channels and scale Business Banking by acquiring SME clients digitally through partnerships, the deep expertise and extensive experiences of [Keraine] and [Xie] will be invaluable to Standard Chartered,” said Hsu.
