ANZ extends opening hours for busiest branches
(22 August 2006 – Australia) ANZ has announced it will extend the opening hours for more than 80 of its branches located in busiest shopping centres nationwide.
Participating branches will be open until 7pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and some will also open doors on Saturday mornings.
The changes come in response to the growing popularity of late night and weekend shopping among bank customers.
"We have identified more than 80 branches in high traffic centres where we know customers shop after normal banking hours. By opening those branches in the evening and on Saturday mornings we can help ensure we’re open when it is convenient for our customers," ANZ group managing director, Personal Division, Brian Hartzer, said.
"We’re saying to our customers, if your local branch isn’t open, and you live near a major shopping centre, you can go there for your banking services. It means when you’ve got time to talk, we’ve got time to listen," Hartzer said.
This initiative from ANZ is the latest in a series of measures intended to deliver more convenient banking to customers.
