Deutsche Bank have announced two new trade finance appointments in its Asia Pacific team.

(14 September 2016 – Asia) The German based bank has appointed Jae-Sun Rah as Director, Head of Trade Finance & Working Capital Advisory – South Korea effective 1 September 2016. 

Rah has over 20 years of transaction banking experience and a deep knowledge of the Korean market. Previously, he was at Citibank where he was most recently Director, Trade Product Head, Treasury and Trade Solutions for Korea.

Meanwhile, Masahiro Goda, has taken the role of Director, Head of Trade Finance and Working Capital Advisory – Japan effective 1 September. He has more than 30 years of local and international trade finance banking experience. His last position was Executive Director, Global Trade Finance at Mizuho.

Both hires will report directly to Shivkumar Seerapu, Managing Director, Head of Trade Finance and Working Capital Advisory, Asia Pacific in addition to their respective local reporting to the in-country business heads.

Commenting on the appointments, Seerapu said: “South Korea and Japan have been successful franchises for us and we will continue to build on our strategy to serve our large Korean and Japanese clients globally and our global MNC clients in these key markets.

“Both are relatively mature markets with large sophisticated clients who need complex domestic and cross-border Trade Finance and Working Capital solutions, an area of particular strength for us. These hires demonstrate our commitment and aspirations in these markets and to this business.”
