JP Morgan promotes Hong Kong head

(9 March 2010 – Asia) Catherine Leung, JP Morgan Chase, head of investment banking, has been appointed to the role of Asia vice-chairman of investment banking according to an internal memo seen by Dow Jones Newswires. The Australian newspaper reported that a memo, from JP Morgan’s head of investment banking for Asia excluding Japan, Todd Marin, said that Ms Leung only recently began working with the bank’s China chief executive, Fang Fang, as well as the investment banking team there to secure business opportunities in southern China.

The new vice-chairman will retain her Hong Kong role after the appointment and report to Mr Marin.
