Macquarie in HK research alliance
(Hong Kong) - Australia's Macquarie Bank has announced an equities research partnership with Hong Kong based CLSA Emerging Markets, and will soon launch joint products through the alliance.
Macquarie Equities Asia head Jonathan Coultas said the two banks had signed a cooperation agreement last October, and Macquarie would join CLSA in hosting its annual investor forum in May - traditionally one of the biggest financial conferences in Asia.
The move follows claims - disputed by the bank - that it has cut back on its Asian equities research out of Hong Kong.
