Murphy to co-head ANZ’s Australian Economics team

(15 June 2015 – Australia) Cherelle Murphy has been appointed by ANZ as co-head of Australian Economics, reporting to ANZ chief economist Warren Hogan.

Murphy is an experienced economist and has worked at ANZ for the last decade.

She will work alongside fellow co-head of Australian Economics Felicity Emmett, to lead the bank’s analysis of the Australian economy and policy issues affecting the outlook.

Commenting on the appointment Hogan said: “Cherelle’s knowledge of the Australian economy and her ability to tailor the ANZ Research view to different client segments will be critical in this role.

“I will continue to work closely with Cherelle and Felicity to build out this team’s offering, and we will maintain our strong focus on producing economic analysis that is relevant and useful to our local and offshore customers.”

ANZ Research provides extensive coverage and analysis of economics, financial markets and commodities, with staff based in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, Singapore and United Kingdom.
