Sell to ANZ and we’re off, kiwi customers say

(New Zealand) A growing number of National Bank of New Zealand customers are threatening to quit the bank if it falls into the hands of ANZ, a survey has found. A University of Auckland customer satisfaction report reveals that 18 percent of NBNZ customers would consider leaving if the bank became Aussie owned, up from ten percent in last year’s survey.

As a result, British owned NBNZ has dropped to third on the customer satisfaction list behind bolter of the pack Bank of New Zealand, and perennial favourite ASB Bank.

ANZ has seen its position on the table fall to fifth spot while Westpac dropped one place to fourth.

The most popular kiwi bank is Taranaki based TSB Bank which scored an impressive 95 percent customer approval rate. Kiwibank increased its support to 58 percent from 43 percent last time around.
