Goudswaard to head up ANZ Regional, Rural and Small Business Banking

(18 July 2006 – Australia) ANZ has appointed Rob Goudswaard as managing director of the newly created Regional, Rural and Small Business Banking unit. Goudswaard’s position is a new role, the result of ANZ bringing together its Regional and Rural business with its Small Business Banking business.

Goudswaard has been head of Small Business since 2004 but is a veteran of 25 years at ANZ. Among his roles at the bank, he has been general manager of Personal Banking Asia and Pacific, and was chief operating officer with ANZ Small to Medium Business.

He also worked at ANZ Grindlays in Oman, and was general manager of ANZ’s business in the Solomon Islands.

Goudswaard will report to ANZ group managing director, Personal, Brian Hartzer.

"ANZ Regional and Rural Banking has always included responsibility for small business customers outside of metropolitan areas and bringing the two businesses together will bring national scale and focus, and enable greater access to specialist service for our small business customers in rural Australia," Hartzer said.
