ANZ Announces ANZx CIO

(22 October 2021 – Australia) ANZ has announced its head of wealth Paul White will move into the newly created role of divisional chief information officer (CIO), Australia.

Mr White will oversee the build of ANZ’s new banking platform under its transformation project ‘ANZx’ while continuing overseeing the sale of ANZ’s former life insurance, superannuation and third-party advice businesses to Zurich and IOOF. Mr White will report to ANZ group executive of technology Gerard Florian and commence in the position at the end of November.

In his new role, Mr White will oversee the direction and delivery of the overall technology vision and strategy for the Australian side of the group as its inaugural divisional CIO.

Mr White spent over four years as COO for technology and operations for ANZ Wealth Australia and another two year as general manager for technology and CIO for global wealth. Mr White spent close to a decade in various roles at HSBC prior to joining ANZ, most notably as director and head of innovation and global program manager.

He has a strong technology background as well as a solid delivery focus and track record in leading teams through change, creating the conditions to enable high performance and building strong partnerships and stakeholder relationships” commented ANZ Group Executive of Technology, Gerard Florian.
