ANZ completes specialist business restructure

(28 April 2004 – Australia) ANZ has completed a restructure of its specialist businesses with the announcement that Brian Hartzer has been chosen to lead the bank’s new Personal Banking division. The bank has also appointed Elmer Funke Kupper as group managing director of its new Asia Pacific division. Kupper was previously managing director of Personal Banking and Wealth Management in Australia.

ANZ said its program of clustering specialist businesses around customer segments was designed to harness "synergies" between the respective businesses.

The Personal Banking division comprises personal and wealth distribution, mortgages, credit cards, merchant services, banking products and rural banking.

ANZ recently appointed Steve Targett as group managing director of its Institutional division.
