ANZ selects business GM

(10 July 2009 – Australia) ANZ has announced the appointment of Jeremy Dean as General Manager of ANZ’s Business Banking unit. In the new role, Dean will report to Group Managing Director for Commercial Banking, David Hisco.

The Business Banking unit is one of four underneath Hisco’s Australian Commercial Banking division. The other three divisions are Small Business Banking, Business Rural and Asset Finance.

Dean will join ANZ from Westpac, where he most recently led the Premium Business Banking group, which caters for customers with facilities from $10 million to $100 million.

At 39 percent, the ANZ Business Banking unit is the largest revenue earner in Hisco’s wider commercial banking unit.

Dean has over 25 years experience in both consumer and commercial banking, starting as a business banker at Westpac. He has also worked for NAB, ASB bank and American Express.

Commenting on the appointment, Hisco said that Dean will be charged with positioning his Business Banking unit as the bank of choice for Australian customers, focusing on increasing sales outcomes at the frontline.

Dean commences of the third of August, and will be based in Melbourne.
