ANZ staff up mortgage franchise business
(6 April 2004 – Australia) ANZ has appointed Steven Heavey as head of ANZ Mortgage Solutions, a new initiative by the bank to establish a mortgage franchise network.
The bank is initially aiming to set up 15 franchises in Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland by early July with an eventual number of 175 branches to be rolled out across the country.
The idea is that franchisees will focus on a defined geographic area in which to sell mortgage products, supported by national ANZ’s Home Buyer’s Line enquiries.
Heavey, who has joined ANZ from Mortgage Choice, will be responsible for setting up the new franchise distribution channel. He will be supported by Carmen Dal Ponte who has joined the bank from RAMS.
