BoAML adds to Aus team
(14 April 2010 – Australia) Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired Chad Karpes to head up its Australian dollar bond syndicate, according to news reports.
According to a Bloomberg News source, BoAML’s Australian unit has hired the former Royal Bank of Scotland syndicated director who resigned from the rival bank earlier this month.
While neither the Bank of America Merrill Lynch nor Mr Karpes would comment on the matter, a spokesperson for RBS said he resigned from his position with RBS on April 7th, 2010.
The bank's local chief executive, Craig Drummond, said last month that Bank of America Merrill Lynch will be adding more workers in an effort to return to a top-three ranking in Australia.
