New EMEA head for Citi

New EMEA head for Citi

(18 January 2019 – UK) David Livingstone has been appointed the new head of operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Citigroup in a role that will see him guide the bank through Brexit.

Mr Livingstone will succeed Jim Cowles who announced he was stepping down in September amid a broader executive shake up at the Bank.

“We have made tremendous progress in the region under Jim’s direction, and I am confident that will continue under David’s leadership,” chief executive Michael Corbat told the Financial Times, citing a 53 per cent improvement in EMEA institutional client income under Mr Cowles.

Mr Livingstone, who joined Citi in 2016 from Credit Suisse, will relocate to London from Australia where he has been chief country officer for Citigroup’s operations across Australia and New Zealand.
