Smart card terminal deal at National

(Australia) - Australia's National Australia Bank (NAB) has purchased about 5,000 additional smart card ready terminals from KeyCorp in a A$3 million deal and in further preparation for deploying smart card based services. The deal represents NAB's third significant order in just over a year, climbing its installed base to about 15,000 units of the EMV (EuroPay/Mastercard/Visa) compliant KeyCorp K23 systems.

Part of a staggered upgrade to the Bank's EFTPOS terminal infrastructure, NAB now seems positioned to look at a limited service roll out.
